Crooked and Criminal Doctors
First, I would like to say there are good and honest doctors. And I would like to thank those who have helped me when I need them. However, this is a story of the troubles I have had with some who seemed to be less than good and honest. Over 20 years ago, I was misdiagnosed after a pharmaceutical overdose. I was refused access to my medical records. At the time, I thought it was just a series of mistakes. Now, after looking up the properties of the substance*, I wonder how much the medical facility knew at the time. When I have brought this subject up with some other doctors, they reacted in extreme and unusual ways. Could a patient be "blacklisted" for asking too many questions? Could a doctor intentionally fail to give the correct diagnosis? This is my story. And it began in the small town or Roseburg Oregon. The overdose could be considered a hazing prank by a co-worker. A prank gone bad with a substance which may be harmful or possibly fatal. When I was taken to the walk in clinic, I was disorented and very weak. I was diagnosed as having an acid peptic condition and prescribed Tagament. My UA showed sugar and blood present. I was also having having nosebleeds. Yet the receptionists were making crude jokes. I had to ask for a receipt to prove that I had even been there. Then later, when I went back to ask for copies of the blood work, I was refused access. I have been told that perticular doctor is no longer practicing to the general public. Yet other doctors seem to cover for the "mistakes" of the doctor I saw all those years ago.
I will not be giving the names of these doctors on this webpage. However, I will say that the medical profession where I live seems very close knit. I believe that good dotors may even be intimidated by the bad ones.
And after the experiences I have had, I would recommend a witness present during medical visits.
I don't mean to imply that all doctors are untrustworthy. There are many trustworthy, honest doctors I am sure, but overall I havent had very good luck where I live.
